We just wanted to update you on our adoption process so far. Last I updated we were in the process of working on our profile book. It was fun and stressful. I love to write, I honestly did not think it was going to be that big of a deal, ya know?
But THEN the weight of introducing ourselves via a book, to a sweet momma who is trying to make the best choice for she and her baby started to weigh heavy on me.
I psyched myself out many times. I wrote, edited, and re-edited photos and writing frequently.
Im not one for disingenuous. I can smell it a mile away…even in my own work. So I wrestled with it, asked friends and family for feedback until we got a final product that I feel truly represents our family and our heart for adoption. Im super happy with it. I wont share it here, but I will share a few of my favorite photos.
The profile book is meant to be an introduction to your family and home. We tried to share our home, values, faith, parenting and love. We shared our travels, favorite places, favorite foods, ways we spend our time and the things and people who are most important to us.

Our consultant encouraged us to hire a lifestyle photographer, and we did. Some of these photos are from that shoot, many are ones that I’ve taken over the years.
You won’t see our son‘s face in any of these pictures. We keep him off the internet for his privacy but his face was shown in the profile book.

This picture cracks me up because it is an accurate representation of how helpful I am when many parts and pieces are involved…and that is not very. I have not the patience for instructions or all the teeny tiny screws that put this sweet little bassinet together. However, my husband had it together in about 7 minutes.

Bo and I posed for some homeschool action photos. I know some homeschoolers get a rep for being like ultra casual, doing school in pajamas. That’s not us. We are get up and get dressed for school people. Coffee in hand ✔. Dressed and ready to go ✔ ✔.

The profile needed to include interests and action photos. We are car people. Oron and our son are restoring a Corvette with my brother-in-law. Said Corvette and brother-in-law are pictured above. It’s funny because although Oron and Andrew are not brothers, they do resembled one another quite a bit.

This last one was an excerpt from our profile books.
We are very happy with the profile book, we feel like it accurately represents our family and we hope it’s a sweet intro to who we are.
Next steps: We had to update a few of our clearances, and are just waiting for them to come back. We should be eligible to match soon!
If you have any questions about adoption feel free to ask in the comments!
