I have been planning my Christmas tree decor for several months. This level of planning regarding Christmas tree decor is very unlike me, however, I had found these Santa ornaments in some of my grandmother’s belongings after she died and I wanted to finally use them.

It turns out that most all of the clearance Christmas ornaments and bulbs that my mother in law had given me in recent years fit vibe.
What did not fit the vibe were these colorful lights. I’ve been team colorful lights long before the internet decided on a 90s Christmas but alas, they did not work with this vibe. So we took them down.

How it started…
After a quick run to Walmart, we were back in business with the white lights

This is where we landed after the first night of decorating. But I knew it needed something more and I had already dried oranges because apparently I had plans to become an entirely new person and finish a long garland of dried oranges, cinnamon sticks and maybe wooden beads. BUT I am not a new person as it turns out. So I went with this MUCH simpler idea I thought up and that is to use these little ribbons and poke holes in the dried oranges. The ribbons have little wires on the back making it easy to secure to the tree. I just poked the wire through the hole in the orange and then attached to the tree. Easy peasy. I used these ribbons from My Texas House. They were very reasonably priced at $2.86 for a pack of 10.

I sliced my oranges very thin, baked them at 170 degrees for about 6-8 hours, turning roughly once per hour.
